Successful Organization of Clinical Case Conference at PGIVAS, Akola on 17th Feb, 2018.

Second Clinical Case Conference on “Recent Trends of Clinical Case Management In Veterinary Practice” was organized on 17th February, 2018 for students and field veterinarians of Amaravati Region by the Department of Surgery and Radiology, Postgraduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Science, Akola.
 
The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. G. P. Rane, Joint Commissioner (Headquarter) Department of Animal Husbandry, Maharashtra State, Pune.

Dr V. B. Bhojne, Regional Joint Commissioner of Animal Husbandry, Amaravati region, was the guest of honour and the function conducted under the Chairmanship of Dr. H. S. Birade, Associate Dean, PGIVAS, Akola.

Dr. M. G. Thorat, Co-Chairman in his introductory remark narrated the importance of organization of the event. On this occasion, compendium of the event and an audio CD prepared by Dr. M. G. Thorat on ideal animal husbandry practices were released. The inaugural programme was anchored by Dr. S. M. Wankhede and Dr S. D. Chepte, Organizing Secretary, offered the vote of thanks.
 
The event was initiated with expert deliberations by Dr. D. U. Lokhande, Dr A. U. Bhikane, Dr. N. M. Markandye and Dr. S. V. Upadhaye of various clinical disciplines from MAFSU. In all,  four Technical sessions were held viz., Veterinary Surgery, Veterinary Clinical Medicine, ARGO and Field Veterinarians.

During these sessions, 31, 33, 23 and 3 papers were presented respectively. A total of 188 delegates participated in this event from the constituent colleges of MAFSU and Filed Veterinarians from Amarawati region.

From each session three best presentations were selected for award of Cash prize, Certificate and Trophy.
 
For Valedictory and Prize distribution programme Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor Dr. PDKV, Akola Dr. V. M. Bhale was the Chief Guest, Dr. A. P. Somkuwar, Director of Extension and Training, MAFSU, Nagpur and Dr V. B. Bhojne, Regional Joint Commissioner of Animal Husbandry, Amaravati region were the guests of honor. Dr H. S. Birade, Associate Dean, PGIVAS, Akola presided over the function.

During his speech, Dr. V. M. Bhale explained the importance of Veterinarians in Agriculture sector and made an appeal to control the wild animal population like Rohi by undertaking castration programme.

Dr. A. P. Somkuwar explained the pivotal role of veterinarians in doubling the farmer’s income. In Veterinary Surgery session N. Pereira from NVC, Nagpur bagged the first prize followed by A. Datir, BVC, Mumbai, A. A. Ransingh, COVAS, Udgir and N. Bhave, PGIVAS, Akola. In Veterinary Clinical Medicine session A. Lakhpati, KNPVC, Shirwal bagged the first prize followed by H. Game, PGIVAS, Akola and N. Singh, COVAS, Parbhani.

In ARGO session M. Sheikh, KNPVC, Shirwal bagged the first prize followed by S. Harkal, PGIVAS, Akola and K. D’Silva, KNPVC, Shirwal. In Field Veterinarian session Dr. D. Potey and Dr. P. G. Ghawat received the first and second prizes respectively. This programme was anchored by Dr. M. A. Gole and the vote of thanks was offered by Dr. M. G. Thorat. The Chairman and members of the various committees and students of PGIVAS, Akola  took pain-staking efforts for the grand success of this conference.
