One day Farmers Training Programme held at village Paras District Akola

One day farmer's training programme on "Selection and Breeding management of dairy animals: a key to successful dairy farming" was successfully organized by Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Akola and Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) on 09/02/2015 at village Paras, Taluka- Balapur of district Akola.
Dr. M. V. Joshi, I/c. Associate Dean, PGIVAS, Akola presided over the function. Dr M.G. Thorat, Chairman of Extension Cell, PGIVAS, Akola, Dr. S. V. Kuralkar, Head, Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, PGIVAS, Akola, Mr Ramesh Tayade, Member- Grampanchayat Paras, Mr. Surendra Khandare, Dy. Sarpanch, village Paras, Mr. Gopalrao Khandare Progressive Farmer of village Paras were present to grace the occasion as a guest of honour.
Dr. P.S.Bankar, Assistant Professor, Dept. AGB, PGIVAS, Akola, being coordinator of training programme, welcomed all dignitaries and explained about concept of training programme. During the training programme 7 folders on different topics were published and released for farmers at the hands of guests. During the programme, kits were distributed to the farmers containing leaflets with the help of Mr. Kiran Dandi, BTM- Paras, ATMA, Akola.
At the inaugural session, Dr. M.G.Thorat addressed the importance of supply of clean water to animals for enhancing milk yield and thereby requested to make clean the common water tank. Dr. S. V. Kuralkar expressed the significance of allied animal husbandry businesses in socioeconomic development. Dr. M. V. Joshi informed to participants about scientific management practices. Dr S.G. Deshmukh Assistant Professor of ARGO, Dr M.F.M.F. Siddiqui Hospital Registrar TVCC, Dr S.Sajid Ali, Assistant Professor of AGB and Dr. G.J. Panchbhai Assistant Professor of LPM delivered lectures on different topics and guided the farmers during the training programme. Total 50 farmers and livestock owners were present for the training programme.
In concluding ceremony, certificates were distributed to the participants. The programme was anchored by Dr V.B.Jawane and Dr A. S. Joshi, M.V.Sc. students of Dept. of AGB, PGIVAS, Akola. Mr Ramesh Tayade, Member- Grampanchayat Paras expressed the vote of thanks during the concluding function of the event.
