FARMERS GUIDANCE AND MASS DEWORMING OF GOAT & SHEEP PROGRAMME AT DAGAD PARVA, Tq. BARSHITAKLI, Dist. AKOLA UNDER ATMA

A programme of farmers guidance regarding 'Profitable goat rearing with special reference to Bakra-Eid' and mass deworming of sheep & goat at village Dagad Parva Tal. Barshitakli Dist Akola on 22nd March 2016 was successfully organized by Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Akola sponsored by Agriculture Training Management Agency (ATMA), Akola.
 
Dr H. S. Birade, Associate Dean, PGIVAS, Akola presided over the function and inaugurated the training programme. Mr Ashok Bankhele, Project Director ATMA Akola, Mr Qurban Tadvi, Deputy Project Director, ATMA Akola and Mr Manohar Rathod, Sarpanch, Dagad Parva, Barshitakli, Akola were present to grace the occasion as a guest of honour. Dr R N Dhore, Prof. & Head, Dept of Animal Nutrition, PGIVAS, Akola and Dr M F M F Siddiqui, Hospital Registrar, TVCC, PGIVAS, Akola guided the farmers on various topics related to deworming, vaccination, nutrition and management. Mass deworming programme of sheep and goats through demonstration and distribution of broad spectrum dewormers was carried out with the hands of guests.

Total 30 sheep and goat farmers were benefited by the guidance programme and around 1000 doses of dewormers were distributed amongst the goat farmers. Dr M D Kharwardkar, Assistant Professor, Department of LPM and Dr S Sajid Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of AGB has taken painstaking efforts for organizing and making this event successful. The programme was anchored by Dr M D Kharwardkar. All the participants expressed their satisfaction over this training and mass deworming programme
